This ATC was inspired by the Harry Potter movie\/book, The Sorcerer’s Stone<\/span> (or The Philosopher’s Stone<\/span>, depending on where you are in the world). In the chamber of the winged keys, Harry must capture the single\u00a0winged key that unlocks the special door. For me, this seems to symbolize how certain things that are special goals\u00a0sometimes require extra effort.<\/p>\n

I started with a standard chipboard ATC base (2.5″ by 3.5″), covered it with scraps of magenta patterned paper, which I then promptly covered with a beautiful piece of black\u00a0and white\u00a0floral lace. I finished off three of the edges with a small black pearl trim and a couple of metal flourish corners, leaving the edge of the floral lace to hang off the top of the ATC.<\/p>\n

To create the winged key, I cut a couple of chip board wings using the Tim Holtz “Winged Heart” die, which I painted with a pale pink acrylic paint and covered with fine glitter. I sealed in the glitter after it had dried with clear gel medium\u00a0so that the recipient would not constantly be brushing off the glitter. The key is one from a charm package picked up at Michaels from the $1.50 bins. I added a little lacy black bow to create a kind of\u00a0“collar” to\u00a0the key.<\/p>\n
