I wanted to make a special thank<\/a> you card for my hubby’s grandmother who is 98 years old. \u00a0She is a very elegant lady and \u00a0I wanted a card to match.<\/p>\n

I decided to use the Inspired by Stamping “Delicate Doilies”<\/a> stamp set and let the gorgeous intricate doilies shine–literally. \ud83d\ude42 I used an EK Tools powder tool as an anti-static tool to prepare the card stock panel for heat embossing. Then I used VersaMark ink and stamped out various doilies and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.<\/p>\n

For the “THANKS” sentiment, I used an old Stampin Up! stamp set called “Vintage Verses” and used Momento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink (this\u00a0ink\u00a0stays wet long enough to act as a great binder for embossing powder) and clear embossing powder on a scrap of vellum that I hand cut into the shape of a banner to fit on one side of the card.<\/p>\n

To add more dimension and interest, I also decided to heat emboss some black doilies on vellum paper to place around the card. I fussy cut each of these and layered them on the larger gold doilies and used them to fill in some blank spaces around the card. I wanted a luxurious look for the card so I decided to add some black and champagne colored bling pieces around the card for good measure.<\/p>\n

The following is a start-to-finish process video of the whole card (well, except the extra gold embossed doilies I glued to the inside of the card for a little extra pizzazz–confession: these were from my first attempt at this card base which was a bit messy and did not have complete doily impressions. I salvaged what I could, and I think they made the card much more fancy! YAY!):<\/p>\n
