I was so honored when Alice Ledezma, (YT: VintageGal18) the owner of HappyCreating, asked me to be a designer for her Etsy store. Then when I received the American Crafts Shimelle stamp set that had a travel and photography theme, I thought what are the odds?! My niece is going to go study abroad and her favorite hobby is photography! I also used camera stamps from a Heidi Swapp stamp set (sorry I don’t know the name) and a Snap Studio stamp set called “Snapshots.” I knew I had to make a card for her with this set, and what better day to do that but on World Card Making Day?!

My readers can get 10% off their entire order at HappyCreating by using the coupon code CRAFTYPAWS at check out

Then after being brainwashed all week with amazing gold themed cards by Sandy Allnock, I knew I had to use the heat tool and Ranger Queen’s Gold embossing powder that my niece had gifted me last Christmas! Although the materials I used were different, I was inspired by the gold framing and making of gold papers in Sandy’s Day 3 class, when I made the sides gold edged and the gold camera embossed background paper for this card. I used a die from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Die Set to cut out the centerpiece globe. I really like the clean, monochromatic but luxe look of this card, and given my niece’s sophisticated aesthetic, I am hopeful she will like it too. 🙂

The following is a process video of creating this card:
