I struggle making cards for men. This one is on the border, but I like how I was able to incorporate springy flowers without making it too girly. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

<\/a>I used Tom from The Greeting Farm Hatters stamp set and colored him up with the following Copic colors:
\nSkin: E00, 21, 11, and R20
\nHair: C5, C9 and B000
\nHat and Coat: BG45, 49 and 78
\nBlack shearling cuffs and collar, Pants and Shoes: C1, 3, 6, 9
\nGold Clock: Y26 and YR29<\/p>\n

I was inspired to create this extra long card by the super cute and sparkly 7 layer cake from the old DCWV “The Doodlin’ Around” stack. I fussy cut that out and popped it up on double sided foam adhesive. For the card base, I used black card stock to “anchor” the card. Then just layered (a bit askew) some aqua card stock (remnants from the paper from which I fussy cut out that 7 layer cake) and white card stock (around which I doodled a dot and dash pattern).<\/p>\n

The sentiment I printed from my computer seemed to go well with the gigantic cake: “Birthdays are nature’s way of telling you to EAT MORE CAKE.” The wonkly layering seemed to fit the off-kilter cake and the feeling of the mad hatter that I was channeling. LOL\u00a0To match the depth of the cake, I also popped up the little boy on double sided foam adhesive. Lastly, to add some fun dimension and interest, I added tiny vintage fabric spring flowers to a few layers of the cake as if they were frosting flowers.<\/p>\n
